From casualty to comeback – with help from Florida State

J.R. Martinez and "FSU Headlines'" Vanessa Nguyen

J.R. Martinez knows how to make a comeback. Gravely wounded while serving in Iraq, the former infantryman recovered from his injuries to become a successful actor and reality television star. (He won ABC-TV’s Dancing with the Stars in 2011.)
 
Last month, Martinez offered words of encouragement to fellow former soldiers at Florida State University’s Entrepreneurial Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities. A graduate of the program himself, Martinez knows what it’s like to transition from soldier to civilian. Martinez sat down with FSU Headlines for a one-on-one interview to reminisce about his experience at Florida State.
